Tephra: Lamp II
Tephra defines itself as all pieces of all fragments of rock debris and particles by an erupting volcano.
A nod to the documentary Fire of Love, this collection encompasses the beauty and chaos of a volcanic eruption. The work’s simple flecked iron exterior, much like that of the fallen tephra surrounding the volcano after an eruption, glows warmly when lit; bringing not only a source of light into your home, but a conversation piece.
Tephra II’s directional beacons of light allude to two light sources, but this is a matter of mere illusion. The lamp has been designed with one central socket whose bulb’s light is divided in half.
Materials: Wheel thrown raw iron flecked stoneware form, felt base to protect surfaces, and black light fixture with 12 ft. flexible fabric cord and rocker switch.
ULC approved electrical hardware.
